Job Overview:
The Practice Nurse RN is responsible for organizing and administering individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Provides care in outpatient/ hospital settings, including but not limited to, High-Risk and NICU follow-up clinics and the Pediatric Health Center, and Pediatric Services. It involves the identification of follow-up patients, meetings with the family to review program, appointment setting, weekly clinic set up and completion of tasks, evaluation summary letters to a private pediatrician. Coordinates care for infants/ children and prepares reports that are performed as baseline and/or for diagnostic purposes.

Essential Functions:
Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in Unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
